When we decided to launch our games we wanted the best way for players to enjoy the game without being ruinous for the producers. Hence our system is based on:

The base of our games, the units represented each by its card unit can be purchased from your web in unit packs by game.

 

¿What is Capitan?

 

CAPITAN is a new concept of Napoleonic simulation game, which can be played by both the neophyte and the Napoleonic “grognards”

If you do not have figures we can endeavour you to build your own small units, if you already have them congratulations (28mm, 25mm or 15mm. no problem with the scale or the basing system), you have infinite game possibilities with CAPITAN

Do not think CAPITAN is a “skirmish” game, it is a game system based on the infinity of battles during the Napoleonic wars.
 

Environment

 

CAPITAN is set in the Napoleonic time, where there are lots of examples of big battles with thousands of men, but also numerous small actions where the use of the musket, speed of fencing, skills with horses, courage and personal charisma of command were crucial. The drawings in this website are original watercolours from the great artist Jose Maria Bueno, owned by CAPITANGAMES.

 

The Combat

 

CAPITAN is a selection of rules designed to play battles between small groups of troops, such as advance recognition, convoy escort, guerrilla actions, raids on small towns, border posts, incursions into enemy territory, actions against advanced camps, and all those situations where specific tasks were assigned to a few troops of their units.

 

The troops

 

In most cases these clashes included small combination of infantry and cavalry, where the training and preparation of the troops was important, unlike the big battles where the big formation groups and the way they were formed was very important (column, line, square, etc.). The gameplay is frenetic and highly addictive.

 

The important thing, the command

 

In the CAPITAN situations the individual action of small groups, and the direct command of the groups made by the officers or  non-commissioned officers is primary.
The key, the units

The key in CAPITAN are the units, each of them is different and has its own characteristics, no two are identical.
 

Make the most of your figures

 

CAPITAN is a good option for those players with big Collection of miniatures for wargames based on division or army corps scale, as they can be used for small battles and skirmishes without changing the base or modify them.

THE RULES
 

Completely new system

 

The game system is completely new and includes:

 

- Unit activation system by initiatives
- Possibility of activating more than one unit at a time with the
  Command unit system
- Hidden movement on the gameboard
- Reliable recreation of the different types of troops
- Charges, counter-charges, razing, escape…..
- Reaction shoots, of shooters….
- Novel moral system against unit courage

 
 
THE UNITS
 

The Unit Cards

 

The central concept of CAPITAN is the individualization of each game unit. The unique characteristics of each unit is recorded on its own unit card.

 

Unit types

 

There are two types of units, the troops and the commanders, each of them is completely different, even if they belong to the same regiment. The difference depends on the unit, but we have tried to ensure the historical realism of the unit’s and commander’s battle behaviour, in CAPITANGAMES military history is our obsession!.

 

Peninsular War

 

In this release we have focussed on units based on the peninsular  war, with their great skirmishes and small battles.
